Methodology

Our questionnaire was created to help us find our target audience for Smaller Than You, with our results we know whom to target and what promotional techniques will be most affective when promoting Smaller Than You. Our questionnaire proved to be very useful when thinking about difference between males and females music consumption.
Our questionnaire showed both qualitative and quantitative results, quantitative results were much easier to write up into graphs so I would probably include more quantitative questions in my nest questionnaire for quicker, more effective results. Also qualitative questions often leaded to further questions complicating the task.
When writing up the questionnaire results some of our questions, although relating to an idea of our target audience, didn’t have much to do the rest of our questionnaire, for example 'Where do you buy your clothes', these questions also can lead to stereotypical views of our audience. Some of our audience selected 'high street' although there is a ridiculously large amount of shops included in the mainstream category that makes us assume that that audience member would prefer mainstream music, and therefore only gives an idea into our target audiences.

To gain better results we could of asked a wider range of questions, asking people to elaborate on their answers to gain better understanding of our target audiences preferences and opinions. We could also of added questions or made a new questionnaire with more questions relating to Ska and our featured band, maybe including an online questionnaire showing footage from our music video and asking the publics opinion on our Ska influences and genres and what they represent, we could also enquire about our own video as to if there is a clear narrative and if we have used a wide variety of shots to keep it interesting, allowing us to successfully target the right audience.
